Here.

In this moment, right now, I am HERE. Present. In the moment & noticing things that I’d normally be oblivious to while walking around the dog park, neck bent and staring down at my phone. 

But today is different. The phone (mostly) stays in my pocket, and I am HERE.

Feeling the sun warm my shoulders & the water cool my shins. Carefully picking my way through the narrow canal, following after my tentative dog as she does the same. Trying not to startle as tall grasses and wildflowers gently tickle my thighs as I move past. Delighted to discover a pair of colorfully plump caterpillars taking an afternoon nap.

I smile to myself. 

I am HERE.
